Professor Mike Stark of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression has been elected a Fellow of the Society of Biology.

The Society of Biology aims to provide a single unified voice for biology by advising Government and influencing policy, advancing education and professional development and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences. It has 80,000 members worldwide.

Upon news of his Fellowship Professor Stark said, “I’m delighted to have been elected as a Fellow of the Society of Biology and look forward to helping the Society promote Biology in education, research and society at large.”

Professor Angus Lamond Director of the Centre said, “I am delighted to hear Professor Mike Stark has been elected as a Fellow (FSB) of the Society of Biology.  This again reflects the successful performance of the PIs within the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression.”

Professor Stark is one of 13 CLS Principal Investigators to have been made Fellows of the Society of Biology.
