Collaboration produces proteomics techniques in nematodes August 25, 2011 A collaboration between the labs of Angus Lamond, Anton Gartner, and Ron Hay at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression and Sarah Coulthurst of the Division of Molecular Microbiology at CLS, has established a quantitative proteomics technique in the nematode C. elegansanalogous to SILAC. It is predicted that the paper, published in the journal Nature Methods, entitled “Stable Isotope Labeling with Amino acids in Nematodes” will greatly facilitate future quantitative proteomics experiments in nematodes, and allow the application in nematodes of the many tools and techniques developed previously for SILAC analysis in tissue culture cells.
