A busy week at the Tom Owen-Hughes Lab September 26, 2011 With both Daniel Ryan and Andrew Bowman leaving some serious socialising was in order. Daniel blew everyone away with his leaving gift and the Homebrew Ninja came out of the closet at Andy’s leaving party! Meanwhile at an international summer school for PhD students on the Greek island of Spetses Colin Hammond and Ross Fennessy won acclaim for their presentations. Back in Dundee, Triantafyllos Gkikopoulos had a paper published providing evidence that a combination of chromatin remodellingenzymes act to organise chromatin over the majority of a genome. As chromatin organisation is likely to influence all genetic and as a consequence most biological processes, the Tom Owen-Hughes lab hope to further characterise how this is achieved in future.
